This is how I live-blogged Kyykkä

Some of you may have wondered, how I got these videos up on the site while still on the ground at Kyykkä-festivities in Finland.

Discounting the latest video, which consists of all the 1200 still images taken over the week-end with my SLR, playing at 6 images per second with an appropriate theme tune, all the videos were taken on the iPhone 3GS.

I uploaded them onto youtube and posted the link on my website. The same also applies to still images. The process is detailed below:

1) take a video with your iPhone and upload it onto Youtube directly from the Camera-app

2) copy the youtube link you get and paste it into the WordPress app, which creates a new post on your blog and embeds the Youtube video automagically from the link (may vary according to your wordpress-theme. This theme handles the embedding perfectly)

3) I used the WordTwit plugin in wordpress to inform my Twitter feed that there is a new blog post to be read, viewed, listened to or otherwise consumed, but this is optional

And finally,

4) My Facebook status is set to update itself directly from any new Twitter status, and the link gets copied over there as well.

And this worked so well that I kept the notification automation. And once I hit Publish now, you will see a link appear on my Facebook status with the title “This is how I live-blogged Kyykkä” :D
